I have been a member of bluesharmonica for only a short while. But let me just say, "It’s awesome!"
I've have taken other online lessons and they were ok, but this one really hits the passion of the harmonica. BTW: I loved the harmonica museum video- very amazing!
Can I play? Well, I have my good notes, let's say... But each night I practice, and I am surrounded by other musicians so maybe in time and hard work I will get it. continue reading...
Hi this is my first post too!. I finally had enough courage to play at my first blues jam session. It was at a local pub & with one of our local blues bands the Shelley Turner Band who were all really lovely. it was my birthday & I thought it was now or never & it was just about the most exciting & fun thing I have ever done. I was very nervous but as I was playing all Davids advice & his words from the improvising workshop kicked in so I was never without something to play.I am really looking forward now to the next one in August-thanks again david! continue reading...

People have a lot of strange ideas about the harmonica, and as a player I'm sure you've heard one or two in your time.
The oddest one I can think of (though in a story told by someone else) was of a woman who worked in a nightclub and would watch the guy playing harmonica, holding it in his hands and making all sort of hand shapes. One night they got talking and she asked him if you got different notes by squeezing it with your hands, sort of like a rubber duck toy. (Hey, it was a logical deduction.)
WOW!, loved this new addition to the site Dave. Really insightful and interesting and I can't say enough about the jam at the end very cool!!!!
These are all fantastic players but for me Joe's acoutic playing is just ...WOW!, it's inspirational.
Don't get me wrong I loved everything Dennis and Rod did the chromatic stuff I'm falling in love with (don't own one yet!, but will soon!) continue reading...
