All- Just wanted to give y'all a Texas hello!

I have been a member of bluesharmonica for only a short while. But let me just say, "It’s awesome!"
I've have taken other online lessons and they were ok, but this one really hits the passion of the harmonica. BTW: I loved the harmonica museum video- very amazing!
Can I play? Well, I have my good notes, let's say... But each night I practice, and I am surrounded by other musicians so maybe in time and hard work I will get it.
FYI- While reading the posts, I have noticed some have a frustration with jam sessions or playing in public. One thing you may want to try is playing at a local church. That's really what got me started, and the members usually are always needing music people, and are very supportive. The best thing is, hymns are readily available in harmonica tabs, and are easy to pick up.
Anyway, thanks again for a great site! So, when is the jam coming to Texas? Let me know, and I’ll set y’all up with a spot.
Blues -n- blessings,
~Roszell

Hoot

Yes, I am aware of them, however they tend to be mainly in the Houston area. I am in the center of DFW about 4 hours away. Maybe I should start a hoot here? :)
There maybe a group in dallas though, let me re-check them out- Thanks for the response and the tip!

Welcome to the site!... love your picture. There is a Dallas chapter... Jerl Welsh was, and may still be, the head of that chapter. Here's an email, though it may be old dfwhoot@flash.net

HOOT website

Hoot also has a website. Note that they're hoping someone will start a Fort Worth chapter . . .

Thanks,

Yes, the email is still good and we have been in contact since my first post.
Maybe we will get something going in Ft Worth, let's hope so.
Thanks again,
~R
