Here's one we've been doing for a while now. It started as an idea to showcase some zippy harp playing a la John Mayall version but, as usual, it turned out completely different! I think that it definitely has a '60s British blues boom RnB sound which might be due to the addition of maracas to the rhythm section. Let me know what you think!

Carousel Jam

This one was fun putting together. Backing track from HarmonicaJam (thanks to BeelzeBob). I've been playing around a lot with the amp simulations in GarageBand so this was an exercise in learning more about them as well as trying to wrok in some riffs with overblows (thanks Ross) and playing to what I interpreted as a bouncy carousel type of backing. Maybe a little too raspy but hey, its about experimenting to learn.

Help Me

After David writing about this song in tip of the day it's a coincidence that I've just received a copy of this recording from a local radio station that my trio appeared on a few weeks ago! I play it differently every time and just go with the feel of the song on any given take. I think the singer ,Ian, puts in different lyrics every time too!

She caught the Katy

Here's my trio's version of Taj Mahal's classic! We recorded this a while ago and I've since changed the rundown @ 1.24 and 2.52 from 2 2' 2" 1 to 2 2" 2+ 1, which I think is an appropriate correction,  and added a few more embellishments here and there. The "beating" octaves were left in intentionally (a la Bill Clarke!) and the amplified sound is via an Astatic JT30 though a Harp Commander Junior (why does Ron Holmes kit hardly ever get a mention..?!). Anyway, let me know what you think blues brothers (and sisters!) ;O)

Just started incorporating Tongue Blocking. I played without any backing as a new challenge for me as well. So glad to be learning so much from this site and program David Barrett has created.
