The honor was for me to mix the recorded tracks of my Hungarian friends' band for the memory of Muddy Waters.

My Hungarian blues harmonica mentor (Mr. Bela Sandor) recommended me the www.Bluesharmonica.com who is playing on harmonica and singing using my Bugera V5 Infinium combo system. I arranged the technical assembly, the mic arrangements and the post-processing of this track.

He used a Hohner Super Chromonica 48 Chromatic C for this masterpiece.

We could not solve the sound-proofing during the recording because of the circumstances so there is some crosstalk. continue reading...

Not Getting Through This Dark Night

I was blown away by the diatonic solo on David Barrett's Dark Night, so I learned it by ear and played it acoustically as accompaniment to Gary Smith's Can't Get Through to You. The harp solo is directly lifted from David Barrett's My Blues, then I improvise more accompaniment with licks from both songs.

I'm not in love with the later accompaniment piece, but this was a fun and practical experiment in recording and editing.

Nowadays I have been spending my time to learn and develop my licks for improvisation study under LOA6 and in the meanwhile, I made a  decision to try my knowledge learned in this school to apply on my boogie style which I was not tried for a while.

I write only a base chorus for it in the past but it was not changed at all. It was just an idea in my mind. continue reading...

Blues For Paul DeLay

Hello everyone, I publish today a resumption of the piece of study of David Barrett paying tribute to the superb artist that was Paul DeLay.My essay is very far from the expressiveness of David Barrett but I have the impression that it made me progress because this title is excellent to work the use of octaves in the high register that many of my idols such Rod Piazza , William Clarke, George Smith, Charlie Musselwhite or our Nico Wayne Toussaint, superb french bluesman use frequently. continue reading...

Well I have been hard at it trying to get this rendition in presentable shape but find I have hit a bit of a wall. Just cant seem to play without getting some niggly errors. Decided to post it here for some feed back from either those doing LOA4 or have done and anyone else. Would realy appreciate some feedback. Been playing for 9 months so have lots to learn. I put in about 2 hours a day  At my age muscle memory takes a bit more work than others. I loop licks that I am struggling with till I get it and if they include bends I use Harpninja to practice the lick and the bends. continue reading...

Hello everyone. A small test today on the tribute paid by the master David barrett to the theme "Thunderbird" by Little Walter through this Walter's Mood. This track is a very good example for work the 3rd position. The test has many defects, but feel free to give your opinion if you wanted (I play it in acoustic). :)
