Hi guys

This is my harp solo on Telephone Blues by George Harmonica Smith. I decided to leave the tasty guitar solo in there.

Hope you like it.

My Wife and I were asked to join a blues band 1 week ago from a jam we attended regularly.

2 days later we were at a studio to do the recording and 2 days later did a video shoot.

This is all a first for me and what an awesome experience.

For inspiration I listened to Bonnie Rait with special guest Jerry Portnoy live video.

Hi, with this recording I let me inspired by two great artists who both have that warm melodic harmonica sound in common: Big Walter Horton and Jerry Portnoy.  I made some cocktail of pieces from

- Tin Pan Alley (BWH, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NS8VYYNDWFM),

- Blues for Big Nate (JP, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng4XQXI6EKc),

- and Live at Cha (JP together wih Rick Estrin, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NS8VYYNDWFM )

Mellow jazzy blues backing track. Been listning to Denis Gruenling was going for that style/sound of playing. I got the backing track off  youtube, then converted it to mp3, its made by Quist.  I used a Masco ME-18

Survival guide for beginner gigging performers

Hello You,

Few days ago I have played at my first concert hall amplified gigging.

First and most important take-away: You define the circumstances not they you!

- always take all of your instruments, who knows what changes in the mind of band members to be played, key to be played compared to the previously discussed one

- never use battery in your FX pedals 'cause anyway it will be depleted, use power supply

- always set the sound level of all instruments separately and together, play your song together if you just a guest star continue reading...

My Babe (Little Walter)

Posted Tue, 08/14/2018 - 07:50 by Guillaume-15

Hello Everyone. Today I post another tribute to  legend song from the master LWJ, "My Babe". I try to stay in the spirit of Walter but it's very difficult. I play fills first, and then I try to reproduce the melody and after I try to play in the spirit of the originel solo and then I improvise.

I play this one with a marine band classic in Bb, with a old turner CX microphone and my little fender champ 20 to not annoy my neighboors ahaha

Cheers from France.
