Last Night (Little Walter)

Hello everyone! I post today a cover of classic and beautiful tune "Last Night" from the master Little Walter. It's illusory for me to re-create the sound of LWJ particulary in this tune because his technique, and his sound amplified is incomparable. But, in my modest level I try to play this tune as honestly as possible. I play the theme first and I try to play the original solo and for close  a little passage in the high register.

I play this with a Marine Band Classic in G (2nd position) and wita Old Electrovoice mic with a little fender champ 20. continue reading...

The House is a Rockin'

Nothing too fancy here, but just another example of not needing to overplay and serving the song. Also how working off a basic bass line makes for a nice solo.
I'm playing a Seydel Session Steel "E" harmonica in second position (key of B) through a Ultimate SM57 with bulletizer. My amp is a Fender Super Champ X2 with line out to the PA. Unfortunately the line out was not working during the beginning of the song so you only hear me through my amp. However the sound guy soon got it fixed.

Rhumba cocktail

Hi all

I made a little cocktail of the Rhumba licks from our favorite Blues Harmonica site, mixed with some licks I found on youtube (my special thanks and congrats to Ted Burke with his great Rhumba clips on Youtube), and 'personalized' with some own interpretation and feeling.

For me this was a very enjoyable and learning exercise :-)

Hi everyone

Since a number of months I am diving into the great musical repertoire of that famous Canned Heat. I experience thiis adventure as a superb enjoyable and learning opportunity, also because over the years a number of great harmonica players were joining, ech with their own style and personality. Especially their great  boogie style I find very stimulating to me, for improving my tecniques, but also for learning to experiment and improvise, and in this way learn to express what I feel inside.... continue reading...

Hello! I started my 30 day trial from the Hohner Special 20 today, and thought I'd share this. I recorded this with my brother (piano) and my dad (drums) a few weeks ago. I'm not the best, but I want some feedback on it. Looking forward to the lessons here!

Here's my attempt at playing Crazy Legs. There are a couple of slip ups here and there as I can't yet manage to record a perfect single take. Sorry for the audio quality, but I'm having issues getting an external mic working with my laptop.

Midway through my LOA5. I really have enjoyed working on this song. Still not happy its where I would like it but would be interested in critique/comments. This also the first song that I have attempted using a mic (Bulitini) and amp (Champion 20). All a new experience so comment welcomed. I would also like to hear other LOA5 renditions.
