I just signed up for the lessons and in the first lesson video, Dave said I need an A diatonic. I thought we were learning with C. Do I need to buy an A as well in order to use the site lessons effectively? Thanks!

Welcome to the site writer00.

Welcome to the site writer00. There is an intro lesson for those with only the C Harmonica, and it's found here http://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/c_harmonica_intro_lesson. After this lesson, if you decide to continue, you'll need to pick up an A Harmonica (this C Harmonica study will keep you busy for 2-3 months, so there's no hurry).

If you want to pursue it, a technology solution is to use the Google Chrome browser app “Transpose,” of which a lesson is found here: https://www.bluesharmonica.com/video_practice_tools_transpose_%E2%96%B2%...

This app allows you to loop a section of a lesson video, slow it down, and more importantly for your case, change the key to match your C Harmonica.

For changing the key of an audio track, you can use The Amazing Slow Downer, of which a lesson is found here: https://www.bluesharmonica.com/practice_tools_amazing_slow_downer

Best wishes on your studies.
