Practice Tools (the Amazing Slow Downer)
The Amazing Slow Downer is a highly effective learning tool for studying recorded music. With the Amazing Slowdowner you can: play music from a CD or digital file; slow it down (without changing the pitch or key of a song); change the key (without affecting the tempo); loop a section of a song or a specific lick to repeat continuously and save any variation of these changes to a music file for listening on a digital music device or for burning to a CD. You will learn how to do all of this in this video series as well as some insight on how you can best use this program for your studies. Tip #1 by member Hank Stefaniak - If you want to isolate a note in a riff you're learning (assuming you don't have the notation), hit the "H" key when that note comes up and it will hold the note until you hit the "H" key again. It kind of flutters, but it's usually good enough to isolate that note while you figure out what it is on the harp. Miss it slightly and use the arrow keys to move forward or back.
Tip #2 by member Emanuel Villa - "The Amazing Slow Downer is definitely a great software, but there are FREE alternatives as good, at least for PC users, take a look to Practice# (Practice sharp) http://code.google.com/p/practicesharp/
