Some individual holes that don't sound on blow and/or draw

Hi David:

I'm busy working away on intermediate stuff now, but some holes don't sound. Is this a reed offsetting issue? Perhaps I can find experienced local harp guy to hep me adjust the reed offsets.?

Typically it's just one or two notes; different ones though on fifferent key harps...

Thx much, John C

Fills

Hi DAVID.

I am having trouble in the improve section coming up with fills.

is there a place in the lessons that can help me to come up with fills.

my brain is not able to direct my harmonica on where to go or the notes that I need to play.

I have the chorus forms down and just can’t seem to burp out the folks for the AAA WITH FILLS or the AAB WITH FILLs.

So a library of fill kicks or posible fill licks would be helpful I think

i researched the future improves and found 541 and titnaround and ending possible licks  continue reading...

Hi David:

i am on level 4 and doing improv study one.

to create licks for the 4 chords, can one focus on the movement scales lesson and use the notes in the D blues scale to make it easier by using these notes. I think my concept is correct. Can you confirm?

thanking you in advance

Solo Harmonica Study 2

At the end of example 1.7 there are three one draws as a turnaround. They seem to be faster than the metronome beats. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Did I go too fast?

Hello.

I just joined bluesharmonica.com last Monday and I am sure I went too fast by joining.

I have no experience on the music world and I just "bought" one Harmonica, Blues type. I noticed that there is sooooo much to learn before and I was wondering if you could help me with some information on the website for beginning harmonica players, practicing or something else to do before going on an advanced level on blues Harmonica. I guess I should start for some basic studies to learn how to play Harmonica, as I noticed this is being too complicated for me. continue reading...

Paul deLay study song

David Hi.  Working well into Blues for Paul deLay and really enjoying it but I am stuck on 5th Chorus measure 6 and 7. I just cant copy you. I have slowed it down to a crawl but keep “hearing”  a 2 draw at the end  ( 5/4  4’  3 ) in measure 7. Going to the web and your lessons and listening to you playing the 5th Chorus without backing I still think I hear a 2. I have listened to you with HarpNija on and it also shows a 2 draw included. Am I imagining it.  How should I play it.

Solo Harmonica Study 1 - Ex. 1.9

Is there any advantage to playing EX. 1.9 in Solo Harmonica Study 1 by using tongue blocking for the (1,2) draws? It can be done by tongue switching on the 3 draw and thereby minimizing the movement of the harmonica. It appears in the video that you're moving the harmonica to draw over the 1,2.  Thank you. Bill.

Hi David

I know I’m still working my way through LOA 2, but can you tell me the name of the tune you play during your amp reviews and where to find it in your learning program as it is stuck inside my head

thank you

BPM for "Walk With Me"

Posted Tue, 01/08/2019 - 10:23 by Rusty R

I am using my metronome to practice "Walk With Me." What is the BPM for this song? I get 91 when trying to sync with mp3.

For future reference, is there a bpm indication on the pdf for study songs?

Thanks.
