Notes for the 4 chord

Hi David:

i am on level 4 and doing improv study one. 

to create licks for the 4 chords, can one focus on the movement scales lesson and use the notes in the D blues scale to make it easier by using these notes. I think my concept is correct. Can you confirm?

Hello JCWUSMC. The IV Chord

Hello JCWUSMC. The IV Chord is a C Chord, so you can use notes from the C Blues Scale if the jam track you're using is dark, or the C Major Pentatonic Scale if the track you're using is light (not bluesy).
