Hi David–I just saw it's been 45 weeks since I signed up for your website, and I'm discourage by how little progress I've made, just at the end of the second batch of lessons. A life long lip purser, right now I can't get my head around the tongue blocking, and I'm learning very slowly. Also, I find it very hard to navigate the pages, to return to where I last left off, to locate specific lessons, to find answers in the forum, etc. continue reading...

I'm new here. I play a little piano (still learning) and always wanted to learn harmonica as well. I went to a musical instrument store to enquire and was shown a selection of harmonicas. As I was brand new to the instrument, he referenced a collection of Hohners and informed me it was best to have a couple of different ones to start on. I was given the "Old Standby" in C, informed that it was the most versatile one to have and was also given "The Big River Harp" in G which would be a good one to learn on. Inside was the code for 30 days free lessons which brought me here. continue reading...

Shake 3-4 vs 4-5

Is is normal that I feel that shakes 3-4 should be played somewhat differently?

When playing (draw) 4-5 or 5-6 both notes seem balanced. But for 3-4, 4 seems more "prominent", and I have to put "less 4" to feel it balanced. I keep this feeling for all harmonicas.

Is it something known? or maybe can it be a hint of a problem?

When getting to the left of the harmonica, the left corner can get more in the mouth, and I close a bit more my lips to avoid air leaking. Maybe this causes some dissymetry, and I don't know if it's a bad thing. continue reading...

David Sir,

May I please ask for the transcription of "Quiet World?"

Is it available somewhere?

hello David e would like to have your opinion how long it takes to spend on one level to be sure to be able to pass to another ?? Is it necessary to strive on one level or rather move to another and come back to it later?
