I am currenty slightly obsessed with Walter Horton. I would like to know if there is any one Walter album that I absolutley must have. Im skint at the moment so i can only really afford one album. I already have Can't Keep Lovin' You. There are a few recomendations elsewhere online, but I wanted it straight from the horses mouth.
I want to go through the levels of achivement but ive only bought a specific diatonic harmonica. I didn't buy the whole set and im brand new to the instrument.
I have a Bb diatonic blues harp.
Does this mean i cant go through the levels of achivement?
Has anyone tried the Fender Blues Deville harmonicas? The price is reasonable and the reviews I've seen are quite decent. Harmonica prices are getting way too high. Just in the last year and a half the SP 20s have jumped up considerably.
I was listening to some blues harmonica through a streaming app called Spotify and came across a very talented artist, but it only lists the bands name:
Harmonica Blues Band
Very hot harmonica player and band, so I tried to find out who the main artist was by doing a google search and found nothing on the band or artist, no web site, no reference to that specific band, no reviews. I did find the same album "Harmonica Blues Band" for sale on Amazon and iTunes, but there is no info on the band or the harmonica player, only the tunes: continue reading...
Hi everyone. I'd like to get to know fellow students on this site. My name is Albie. I live in the Dallas area and have been playing for about 8 years. For the last 2 or 3 years I've totally plateaued in my learning and it's been tough to get out if that rut.
I decided to start this course from level one and work my way back up and it's already been extremely helpful with some fundamental stuff I'd developed bad habits with.
Whos heading to Trossingen for the masterclass next week? I'll be in trossingen early, from monday night onwards. If anyone else is there early and fancies meeting up for some food or a jam let me know.
If I want to be in tune with sonny's track, and I guess he used 2nd position there (correct me if im wrong please), which key harmonica should I get?
I looked here in the website and other places but there isn't anything conclusive, some playe it on a low D harp, and some on a low C, and some on low F.... I know you can play it on everything but I just want to know what you should get in order to be in tune with the track itself.
There is so much great content here, it takes quite an effort just to go through it all! While I haven't watched everything yet, I've made a pretty good effort to go through as much as I can and I thought it would be a great thread topic for people to post some of their favorites.. Anything from a great performace to good educational stuff to whatever made a strong impression on you.. I'll start with a few. Hopefully these links will work, I"ll put in a description too.
