I am getting a new Laney Cub10 amp based on the strong recommendations on this site. I have two questions:

1. The new Cub10 does not have a "speaker out" option. You have to get a super Cub10 for that feature (which I found elsewhere is not the recommended way to go for harmonica). Is this an add-on I can buy and install myself? I am handy with a soldering iron with electronics.

2. In the amp introduction, David recommends a speaker upgrade to the Weber Vintage AINico speaker. In searching the market I see there are two models. The Weber Vintage 10A125 with an 11 oz. magnet and the 10A150 with a 40 oz. magnet. The latter is more expensive, but my question is which one you'd recommend for the Laney Cub 10. Also, is there something on the site that tells me how to swap it out, or do I have to pay someone as much as the speaker costs to do it? Sorry, I guess that's a third question.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Thank you for writing Rusty

Thank you for writing Rusty R, and thank you for posting an answer to some of the questions Evets. I will pose your speaker out question to Skip. I recommend you YouTube "adding speaker out to a tube amp" to get a primer on how others add a speaker out.

Thanks for writing. Well, we

Thanks for writing. Well, we need a little more information before I can give you some solid advice.

What would be the goal of adding another speaker out?
Do you want to use more than one speaker at a time?

One thing for sure- you will need a quality 1/4" jack. I use Switchcraft metal jacks, not plastic.
Let us know!

New Laney Cub 10

Thanks all for responding.

Skip, I hope I'm pleasantly surprised when I get my new Laney Cub 10, but the specs on both the Laney website and the American Musical Supply website do not include a "speaker out" plug in the specs. They do feature a speaker out jack in the Super Cub 10 description.  Rumor has it that Laney is going to stop producing the original Cub 10  and, perhaps,  Laney is sending a signal by making new buyers purchase the Super Cub 10 to get the speaker out jack. I'll post what I find when the new one arrives.

Hey Rusty, Dave again. I just

Hey Rusty, Dave again. I just remembered that you do have a speaker out on that Laney. Check out the video titled "Medium – Laney Cub Cab (2x12 Speaker Cab @ $249)" on this page https://www.bluesharmonica.com/amp_reviews

Laney Cub 10 speaker out

I now have the new Laney Cub 10 and it DOES have the speaker out jack (even though it was not listed in specs provided by Laney, which did report it as a spec for the Super model). Still not clear whether recommended speaker upgrade is for Weber Vintage Vintage Alnico 10A125 (11oz. Magnet) or Weber Vintage Alnico 10A150 (40 oz. magnet). Thank you Dave, Skip and Evets for your help.
