YouTube audio to MP3?

There's probably a thread about this already, but: Does anyone have a recomendation for software for converting YouTube audios to MP3 format? I've seen some info on the web that some software is buggy or may even have malware in it, so out of caution I'd like hear what folks have had good experiences with. Thanks!

YouTube Downloader HD and Audacity

I use YouTube Downloader HD to download the video or music as an .MP4.

I then drag and drop the .MP4 file into Audacity where I can export as an .MP3

https://www.audacityteam.org/

Audacity is not packaged with the Lame drivers to export to .MP3 so it has to be installed separately. 

Sorry, I don’t know an easier method.
