David,

What do you mean when you say a style of playing is "in your face". I think somewhere you referenced Butterfield.

Who are some other players

Who are some other players that have an in your face style so I can get a point of reference? I know you mentioned vibrato was a good technique for in your face playing, what would be some others?

Answer

You have the Rock Harmonica book I wrote... all the people I mention in the opening of the book and most of the examples I play in there are that way. Basically any technique that's powerful, such as the 4 and 5 together... an exaggerated hand tremolo... shake... strong vibrato... etc.
