Answer

I like the 12-hole models, when the song allows for it. I like the Hohner Chromonica Model 270 Deluxe. This is a very bright harmonica... like the Marine Band is a bright diatonic harmonica. I also really like the Hohner CX12. This is a very dark harmonica... like the Special 20 is a dark diatomic harmonica. For the 16-hole I like the Hohner Chromonica 280. I do not have my other chromatics customized, but I do have this customized.... the lower octave really benefits from customizing.

Perfect. I picked up a 270

Perfect. I picked up a 270 Deluxe today. Very nice harmonica. However, it never ceases to amaze me how razor sharp corners and edges on Hohner can be. Another Hohner. Great sound but time to break out the file and sandpaper :D.

I wasn't initially interested

I wasn't initially interested in learning chromatic but listening to The Bacon Fat sessions has really inspired me. Luckily I have resources to learn!
