Hi Greg, Kinya here

Will your new bullet mic cartridge fit inside a 1 5/8" ID form factor?

Hi, KinyaThe Heuman Element

Hi, KinyaThe Heuman Element is only 1.110" in diameter - so diameter is no problem. It is however, 1.650" long, so that rules out very short shells like the Biscuit.

Cheers

Hi, again My wood mics are

Hi, again

My wood mics are 2.34" in diameter - same as a JT30. But they don't have any bumps on the grill and they weigh less - plus the nature of wood, even with finish on it, makes it "stick" to your hand better than metal. So they're extremely easy to hold and cup, even if you have small hands (as I do.) There are smaller shells like the Astatic T3 but tone begins to suffer with dynamic elements, which need some volume on the back side to provide decent bass response. I believe The Heumann Element would fit in something like an EV605 which is also fairly small - but I don't have one to try with......

Hi Greg, David turned me onto

Hi Greg, David turned me onto a dome cap--found on cyclone fences. Feels great in my hands. The ID is exactly 1 5/8". Of course this the dome would be machined (drilled like a colander) and attached to a body ...
