Greetings Kinya;

I was wondering which model#, or size, of Wiha slotted screwdriver, you use for the 0-80 screws for reed replacement?

I'm going to order a couple tools directly from the Willi Hahn Corporation, (Wiha USA), website, and I'd like to include that particular screwdriver in my order.

Thank you

I was hoping to place my order soon

Hoping to place my order soon as I want to start practicing reed replacement on a couple of cheap Bluesband harps.

I guess Kinya has come and gone for the day. Anybody else....?

Can any of you other harp techs tell me what size Wiha brand slotted screwdriver would be the correct choice for 0-80 screws?

Thanks in advance

Screwdrivers

The slot in the Bluesband reedplate screws are 1/64" x 3/32" or .4 x 2.5mm. But.... more Bluesbands have posi-driv screws.

good luck......Mike

I may not have been clear....

Thanks Mike for the reply. I may not have been clear. I wanted to know which size of Wiha screwdriver would be a good fit for the 0-80 screws used in reed replacement itself. the round head 0-80 screws that Kinya uses to secure the new reed in place.

I meantion the BluesBand harps I have that my wife originally bought for our grandsons years ago but forgot to ever give them to them. I was going to use the two cheapo BluesBands to practice reed replacement, just re-using the reeds I take off. I think that'll be good practice to replace 40 reeds! :)

Ordering 0-80 screws

Thanks anyway Mike. I'm going to be ordering some 0-80 screws and a few tools from Micro-Mark soon. I forgot that a buddy of mine has an all-in-one Wiha tool with various bits. I'll just match them up to the screw slots. It's probably a 2.5 or a 3.0.

Good idea!

That's a good idea Mike. I'll give them a call. Thanks for the suggestion. I tried Google but didn't find any info on the slot width.

Went to Micro-Mark website

Micro-Mark website listed the round head diameter of the 0-80 screws as 7/64 which converts to roughly 2.78 mm, so I guess either the 2.5 or 3.0 size of Wiha slotted screwdriver ought to work

Both screwdrivers

I just received my order from Wiha and now have both slotted screwdrivers, as well as some other tools. The shipping was 7 days. I have other uses for the screwdrivers as well as harp related use, as my grandson and I race radio-controlled vehicles at a local track. (another excuse to fuel my tool addiction :)
