Which harmonica?

Hello David, I am new here, I got my harmonica today and I never played a tune in my life! But now I am going to be good at it! I am dedicated! I have a Hohner Marine Band 1896 (Classic). It might have been the wrong choice but what can I do, I already bought it.
My question is: In the first lessons you always say I need an A Harmonica. Does that mean I can´t do the lessons with the one I got? What does A Harmonica mean?
Best wishes! / Åse, Stockholm
Welcome to the site Åse. There is an intro lesson for those with only the C Harmonica (I'm assuming that's what you have?... look at the top cover plate...on the right side there will be a letter stamped on the cover plate...that is the key), and it's found here http://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/c_harmonica_intro_lesson. After this lesson, if you decide to continue, you'll need to pick up an A Harmonica (this C Harmonica study will keep you busy for 2-3 months, so there's no hurry). Harmonicas come in many keys, so we have to choose one to do the lessons with, and I use the A Harmonica. Best wishes on your studies.
