If a chromatic player got a 2nd chromatic, which Chromatic Key (after C) would be best to get for a player wanting to jam with others (blues, rock or pop)?  And why?

Thanks, Doug

Hello Doug. Most pop

Hello Doug.

Most pop chromatic players only use the C, playing in all positions/keys.

Blues players commonly play in 3rd Position, placing them in the key of D or Eb (with the slide in). The next most common chro key is Bb, which places you in C... you'll hear Rod Piazza and William Clarke use the Bb quite a bit. The other key that would be good is the G (places you in A and Bb).
