In the section Improvizing study one on LOA 5 - a new key is introduced. It says I will need b flat harmoniica.

Looked at Amazon to buy one.

I assume that we need Major Key of B Flat, not Natural Minor Key of B Flat?

Am I correct?

Thanks

I would assume Dave uses

I would assume Dave uses "Richter Tuned" Hohner Harmonicas unless otherwise stated.

But any brand and model harmonica that is "Richter Tuned" will work.

Bb Major Diatonic

Yep. Bb major diatonic, kvladdan. No special tuning. Make sure you get a good playable one, e.g., Lee Oskar, Hohner Special 20, Rocket, Marine Band, etc. And if buying on Amazon, be careful of sketchy sellers offering harps for "too good to believe" prices. If you're in the US, order from www.rockinronsmusic.com. Ron is a genuine friend to the harmonica community.

Thank you guys. I played

Thank you guys. I played Special 20 from the beginning. Recently got Hohner Golden Melody in G, loving it. JUst yesterday got my first Lee Oskar, and find it ok, but not as nice as Special 20. (since both are in key of C in my case). Maybe it takes time to get used to it. Lee Oskar is lighter (don't like that), and a bit wider than Special 20 (that's kind of OK).I have Hohner Blues Harp in the key of A. Didn't like the wooden comb, but now I am kind of used to it.

You're learning that every model of harp has its own personality. Re the Hohner Blues Harp, I have a few of them for which I've replaced the comb with acrylics from Tom Halchak at Blue Moon Harmonicas. A nice little upgrade. I love the combs he makes.
