I know this is not really a harp tech question, but I have to ask you. I am learning from your harp tech videos the basic maintanance of harmonica. I got interested and saw your series on tuning and gapping as well. But while learning gapping, I heard the little song you play in its introduction video. I loved it. Then I heard it again in the introduction of reed replacement series! Now I have to ask, what are you playing? And what key of harmonica is it? It sounds very catchy. I'd love to play it!

Edit: I feel like it is an Ab harp (I could be wrong). I've figured out some notes, it'll need practice, but I just can't manage to play the amzing vibrato that you're employing! All in good time, I guess.

Hello Malay, I'm glad you

Hello Malay, I'm glad you like my opening "ice breaker" (filming the Harp Tech Series can be so stressful ;o)

I remember the late great Gary Primich telling our class, "If you can play it, you own it"! Gary was referring to learning another player's licks that eventually become part of your repetoire. The opening of Harp Tech Series #3, my memory is telling me that I learned part of the lick from a song that Harpface recorded.

The opening of Harp Tech Studies #5 was inspired by the late great Tenor Sax maestro, Stan Getz.

Correction

Hello Again, I just realized my baboo ... it wasn't Stan Getz, but Alto Saxman--Paul Desmond of the Dave Bruebeck Quartet. Listen to his wonderful composition--performed in the unusal 5/4 tempo--Take Five (get it? 5/4 tempo ;o)
