Hi everybody. I have an Astatic JT30 that has the volume control on the front like many others and it was always getting in the way. I used to just tighten the screw on the side that holds the volume in one place but I have found a better fix and you can still use the volume control without it getting in the way.

I remove the knob from the pot shaft and slide a piece of surgical tubing about 1/4 inch long over the top. It sticks out only about 1/16 of an inch past the edge of the harp but because it's rubber it's easy to grip to make mic adjustments.

Not sure what size my surgical tubing is but I use it to replace old tubing that is worn out on guitar pickup mounting screws. It's not as big as the original surgical tubing but it works great.

If you want a photo just ask. Good luck.

I forgot to mention, the tubing is flush with the end of the pot post which sticks out about 1/16th to 1/8th pat the edge of the microphone Not the harp. So far it's worked out great and I never turn it by accident.
