Hi David! I hope you are doing great!

I need some advice for improving my warble (thrills) technique.

My warbles aren't great but I'm studying the Blues Chromatic Study 3 Easy Baby and I'm really having trouble playing the 3rd chorus 5th bar lick involving thrills. I just can't navigate the melody using the technique. Do you have any suggestion to improve this? Thanks

Hello Norlo28. Here are some

Hello Norlo28. Here are some tips...

1) Start by playing the line with the bottom notated note... get that melody and movement in your head
2) Start your shakes by playing the bottom note first (a micro-pause on that bottom note can help to keep you in the right place).
3) If you're using your head to shake, make sure to stay relaxed

Give this a try and report back in a week or so.

Hello David! Thanks for the

Hello David! Thanks for the advice. I have been practicing the warble lick and I'm slightly getting better. To be honest I'm feeling a little bit stuck since I'm practicing Bending Study 4 (My Blues) and Easy Baby and I feel these songs are really a challenge. For example, in the song My Blues I'm really having trouble with the rhythms in the third chorus. I guess I have to keep practicing until I can nail it. Thanks David!!!

I understand Norlo28. Just keep in mind... what's after a plateau?... an increase in skill! Keep going, you'll get it.
