I can't seem to hold the harmonica correctly to get the wa sound. Would it ever be because I have smaller hands? The entire back of the harmonica doesn't need to be covered correct?

Hello sharlenereynolds You'll

Hello sharlenereynolds

You'll be able to get a good cup on the harmonica using the standard hold... what I call "The Pinch" in this lesson: https://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/cupping_hand_effects

With The Pinch, it's about crating the chamber, not encasing the entire harmonica.

Also take a look at https://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/intro_lesson_1_18_harmonica_insights, Joe Filisko has a slightly modified version of that hold that you may like.
