Hi David,

I tried to do vibrato for the first time, and it was really challenging. I recorded the attempt and uploaded it to an mp3 file, I wonder if you could have a listen perhaps and tell me if i'm close cause close to the middle the it felt llike something is happening but I want to make sure im in the right direction.

Here is the link:http://picosong.com/PXhAthanks,

kobi

Yes, in the middle you were getting a little bit of a vibrato. You're playing a 2", that's very hard to achieve a vibrato on. If you're looking to do it on a bend, I recommend you try it on a 3'. Otherwise, try it on a non-bent note.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, try the 3', the 3" most players use the chewing vibrato due to its unstable nature. Generally speaking though you'll want to practice on a non-bent draw note.

Wow, thanks, I did it on the 4draw (A harp):http://picosong.com/Pgg6

I think it sounds better now. by the way, one last question if you don't mind, I realised i'm not playing the 1 hole with tounge blocking at all, sometimes my tounge is there but when I bend it's the only not that I feel like I must pucker, does that make any sense? do other people experience this also? Thank you.

Answer

It's common to pucker hole 1, even when you tongue block the rest.

Your vibrato sounds good, well done.
