Hello David,

I have been in a slump for awhile; stuck in Level 4 for a year or so. I want to take a little time off and come back when my things have improved. If I unsubscribe, will it be easy to rejoin?

When I come back, should i just pick up where I left off, or ??? Probably should drop down to Level 3, huh?

Any suggestions?

Hello Hank. Yeah, you can

Hello Hank.

Yeah, you can stop and start any time you want.

Where you start back is up to you. You may just want to take a break from the rigorous material from the site and have some fun playing some simple harmonica songs. In other words, keep playing, but take it a little less seriously for a bit.

Another option is private lessons... they'll help a lot.

Thanks for the reply David.

Yeah, I know you are right-on about private lessons; its the best thing I could do. I think you are the best but I can't afford you. Can you recommend anyone more affordable? But affordability isn't the only consideration, is it? We have to work together. I'll listen, I know advise from you will be good.

Hank, I am also in level 4

Hank,

I am also in level 4 and chose to set out for a year after changing jobs.  During that year I kept a harmonica with me and often would practice my slaps, pulls, tremolo (trying to develop vibrato), and other techniques.  I would occasionally play the solo harmonica exercises I’ve learned.  Each time I would play just a minute here and a minute there, never a long study session, never learning anything new, just trying to improve on what I already knew.  When I returned to take up the studies again, I didn’t feel like I was starting over, just continuing where I left off.

I want to encourage you to do the same.

vacation reply to Brian in Tennessee

Thanks for the input Brian, I appreciate it. Yes, it worries me a little the idea of stopping because I fear it may be a long time til I show up again. The idea of keeping a harmonica on board is good one; I haven't been doing that. And I do have a lot of "stuff" that is fun to play and a lot of it is fairly easy to play as well. Will add a short list of tunes and exercises to carry around also. Good idea, Brian.

You have given me help in the past a couple of times, thanks again.

Thanks to all that chimed in.

Thanks to all that chimed in. Check out the accredited instructor list... they've all completed L1-L6 and may be able to help.
