Hello David,

I've been working on"Used To Be My Baby" for a couple of months now, I'm getting there with it but still at just over 50% slow as it has been challenging in places. I'm at the stage where I'm playing to the jam track, which really helps me to tune into the other instruments regarding keeping time.

There are a couple areas where I keep tripping up, typically chorus at 1:37 and the harp solo. I have spent a lot of sessions focussing on these areas individually.

My question: Is it better to work on the weak areas until I am fluent with each of them, or is it best to work on the overall song and spend a few extra minutes on the weak areas?

Many thanks

Saul

Hello Saul. Generally, it works well to work on the overall song and spend a few extra minutes on the weak areas. Of course if there are real hard areas, then more than a few minutes is necessary.
