Anyone have recommendations for a USB microphone to use with GarageBand on a MacBook Pro?

I'm working my way through LOA 1 (and venturing a bit into 2). Watched the videos on recording methods and really liked the idea of recording on GarageBand to check my rthym with Dave's study song recording. I was hoping to use my AirPods as the audio input source, but GarageBand refuses to recognize it. Researched the problem online and tried several recommended solutions with no joy.

The microphones built into my old 2016 MacBook Pro aren't very good for recording, so I've decided that the easiest approach is to simply buy a decent USB microphone.

Shure MV5

I recommend the Shure MV5, which I used exclusively before I got a two-channel interface through which I can run vocal and harp mics. It worked great, and I still use it on occassion when I'm traveling with just my iPad and I need to mic in to a Zoom meeting or music lesson.

Thanks!

Thanks for the Shure MV5 recommendation. Looks nice and compact.

What 2-channel interface did you go with?

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Does everything I need, running it and backing tracks from The Amazing Slow Downer into Rogue Amoeba Loopback, and then into GarageBand.
