Just viewed your great Harp Tech 2 video discussing cleaning. My question is this - If you put the whole harp (non wooden comb) in the cleaner and I mean not removing cover plates, reed plates, etc. will the ultrasonic cleaning remove "harmonicaucus"? Or will it just loosen it and you might still need to open it up and do further deeper cleaning?

Utlimately, that varies on

Utlimately, that varies on the harmonica player's oral hygiene. The cleaner the mouth before playing the harmonica, the cleaner the harmonica will be ;o)

w/w out

I have an sonic cleaner-For a quick overall clean----I put vented u shaped piece of plastic on the bottom,  for lift ===----             I mix hot hoter w/ the blue cleaner made for ultrasonic---------I do max time or less 90 seconds or 180 sec--usually 180 or more----                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            I can put 3 harps in at a time----I do a thourouh hot water rinse -grab a paper towel and bang the water out---followed by smooth  [1-4 hole at a time]  blow in n out to get rid of the last of the water---until I hear all reads playing without water jam up----I do this fast but softly

The water in tub is dirty when done--- say 15-20% dirtier

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However for harps I play a lot  A  C  D   F  G maybe Bb  maybe E  and my Nat harps Cm  Dm  Fm--I take aprt from time to time and and toothbrush with ajax to get rid of grime---Thourough rinse and pat dry---I cut the bristles down to help prevent them jamming in reed--U can see anoticible differance when done

People think rheir gonna die if they use ajax-but u need the grit it offers---RINSE N WIPE THOUROUG
