Hi David

Do you know which day/ days you will be at the NHL weekend festival? I can't afford the whole weekend but might try and get down there for a day.

Thanks, Rob

TA DA L Lip purse only?

This was a great insight, at least for me. I could never figure out how Dick made those quick repetitive single notes sounds during that particular phrase on whammer jammer.

Seeing as I am a 99% tongue blocker (sometimes I find it more efficient to pucker the 1 versus tongue switch) I find the technique does not seem to work as well unless I pucker.

Is this technique better performed by lip block/purse/pucker method? Your answer to this may save me a lot of unnecessary experimentation out of my allotted practice time.

Thanks again David for sharing techniques that I would imagine not too long ago would take many players years too figure out or by luck have someone reveal to them.

Answer

You're correct, it's a pucker technique... TA-KA-TA and TA-DL-A... not sure which he used... use what works for you. I've already spoken to Dick about doing an interview on the site and he said yes, it's just a matter of when we're in the same city as each other when out touring.
