Hi David. Can I ask please - when you tongue slap are you aiming to land the slap on the beat or does the chord hit the beat and the slap follow a fraction after?

Thanks

Joel

Hello Joel. The goal is to

Hello Joel. The goal is to hit the single note on the notated beat. If the note to be slapped is on the downbeat, the chord sounds slightly before the beat (tongue off the harp) and the single note (tongue on the harp) right on the downbeat. So, you can call the chord of the slap a type of quick pickup.
