Hi David

Just starting your LOA program and I was curious as to how long on average you think it will take to complete a level practicing an hour a day. Looking at Hob's progress on the website, he completed the Level 1 and 2 study songs in 10 lessons with you. Were those done weekly? If so it seems as if he completed levels 1 and 2 in only 10 weeks. Is that a usual expectation of the amount of time needed?

Thanks

Eric

Hello Eric. On average, each of the beginning levels are three months each. Intermediate about 4 months each. Hob was fairly regular on his schedule, which were every two weeks, though sometimes it was longer between lessons, schedule permitting.

Time to complete levels

Thanks.

If I am able to devote more time to practice, e.g. 1 1/2 to 2 hours per day, is there any downside to trying to complete the beginner levels more quickly? I am fairly far along already in tongue blocking and bending notes from my prior experience with the harmonica. I would like to try to advance to the intermediate level fairly rapidly, but I don't want to sacrifice learning all of the other great content in the beginner level lessons.

Hello epillemer. There is no

Hello epillemer. There is no issue with going through the material quickly. When you get to the intermediate levels, just make sure to spend enough daily practice time on the Hole Changes exercise (Accompaniment Study 5) and Improvising Study 1.
