Hi all,

I was curious how much time people need to move from one LOA step to another. And because I have some data processing skils, I computed that. Here you go:

Each bar in the chart shows average number of days between consecutive levels. The chart is based on David's posts to the LOA Awords sections of this forum.

Cheers,

Marek

I found this interesting and

I found this interesting and also tempting to do what I know better than to do...compare me to others  :)  ive decided that I'm 1) slow at this or 2) trying to play perfectionist or 3) battling uphill with a short sword.

I've learned much but seems it's taking me way longer than the average per LOA

Food for ponder

Monty, I am slower than

Monty, I am slower than average as well. One of the reasons is that some people started LOA as advanced players, and because they have to complete all levels, they move through the first three or four within a couple of days. That rather skews the averages.

I'm glad that you clarified

I'm glad that you clarified that.  I wasn't goiing to do the LOA but now I've decided to back up and take step by step until I can play with the jam recordings accurately. more time  :)

LOA5

I have been at this now for 1year but I am 74 with no prior experience so muscle memory takes longer. Because of how much I enjoy the experience of learning via loa I do a.Minimum of 2 hours very structured pra rice a day. It’s the journey that I am enjoying g and the time taken is not important. I would like to get past Level 6 before I fall of the perch.

Marek,

To see a bigger picture, could you post the median and standard deviation for these statistics.

Thank you.

Best,

Anton

You kidding?

So I am supposted that a beginner can get to level 10 in less than a year?  That's a joke.  Most accomplished players tell me it takes 10 years to master the harp.

Back then they didn't have

Back then they didn't have Bluesharmonica.com, Youtube and wealth of other resources.

So I think it's possible.

I suppose those who finished

I suppose those who finished the LOA too quickly, were not beginners when they started it.
