Hi David,

I'm playing my golden melody in A on "walk with me".

I also own a Suzuki harpmaster in C and a bluemaster i D and a Marine Band Crossover in Bb.

I found that Crossover harp works better than the other and  the worse playing comes on the golden melody.

I do a lot of efforts in playing single notes fast like in the chorus number 6 of the song. If I play on all the other harps I go much better.

I'm thinking about replacing the golden melody with another crossover in A. Do you think that would be a good idea or, as I experienced in other area of learning, playing on a more difficult instrument could help you to play better when you switch to a better one ?

Thanks

Answer

I recommend you take your favorite harp and have that in all of the keys… in other words play the same model all the time. Each model uses a different mix of tuning (temperment) and size of hole spacing, etc., so by playing the same model all the time it eliminates any issues that may cause.
