Theory 2- Third Position

Hi David, Im a bit confused on exercise 3.5 of Theory 2 for Third Position.
Im referencing the graphic 3.3 with the Dorian scale beginning on D (1 draw). I see how the scale goes up and it makes sense (at least on paper)
I then try to do the scale degree exercise in 3.5 and Im off.
1) The third scale degree would be 2" but you show it as 2'
2) Likewise I dont understand 3' as 6b when I dont see that note on the scale.
This seems amzingly complex and confustion.
Hello gwknopp. I assume you're referencing my answer key. If so...
1) The 3rd is 2' F# and the flat-3rd (what's used in the dorian scale) is 2" F. Even though we know the third note of the dorian scale is lowered by half step, we need to denote that it's the flat-3rd for clarity sake.
2) We're listing every note found on the harmonica. The harmonica has more notes than the scale. These extra notes are found between the notes of the scale. Since 3 B is the 6th, then logically the 3' Bb is the flat-6th.
