technical issue
Hi dear,
first of all I wanted to thank you for free lessons. I have a problem when I click on the links. A window opens and after a while I get this massage: The connection was reset.
Would you please help me solve the problem?
Atiyeh
I hope you don’t mind me commenting on this problem. I am just a student here at bluesharmonica.com, but I work in IT so maybe I can offer some help. The error happens because your web browser has requested information from the web server. It gets a response, but then does not receive everything it is expecting. Since I am not experiencing this the problem is likely on your end or the problem was only brief and has rectified itself. However, if there is a particular page or link you are clicking on that does this please post that link and as David has suggested try accessing bluesharmonica.com on a different device.
If you are still having problems, try the following. Unless stated you don’t have to do this in any order so start with the things you find are the easiest.
- Turn off or restart the computer. Do not just close the lid on a laptop as that normally puts the computer in sleep or hibernate mode which does not clear out the RAM.
- Clean your internet cache on the web browser you are using. Done differently on different browsers, so you may need to Google search on how to do this.
- Flush the DNS cache: For a Window PC open a command prompt window and type in ipconfig /flushdns I have no idea how to do this on an Apple.
- Try a different web browser. Chrome or Firefox. Most of the other web browsers on a Windows PC are just Chrome with a different interface so try one of the web browsers I listed that you are not using.
Network hardware can also cause this.
- Restart any network equipment you have. Start with your internet service provider’s router/modem. Once it has come up then restart your wireless access point or any other routers you have. Most of this type equipment can just be disconnected from power for a few seconds and then reconnected.
- If the above still does not work, contact your internet service provider, and let them know of the error you are getting and ask them if they can check your router/modem. I have seen this error show up randomly on a Comcast modem which was out of date and not communicating well with Comcast’s backend equipment. If that is not the case, they will likely reset the connection which may help.
- If you are using a laptop or some type of portable device, try accessing bluesharmonica.com from someone else’s network to eliminate or confirm that your network might be the problem.
Post back and let us know what you find. There are a few other things we can try on your computer, but I really think one of the above steps will solve your problem.
Thank you brshoemaker, much appreciated.
