Bending Dirty Notes

Posted Mon, 12/14/2015 - 21:42 by blade_imba

David,

I am looking for help in tongue block bending dirty notes like the 3 and 4 together (3 full bend 4 half step bend).  I can bend single notes fine but every time I try adding the 4 it just sounds airy and I lose the total bend.  Any suggestions or videos on the site would be appreciated.

I printed out the Folk Songs Repertoire Builder 1.5 PDF and have been working on Silent Night and The Marines' Hymn.  Looked for the mp3 versions on the website and didn't find them.  Any chance those two songs can be put on the BluesHarmonica.com website for downloading and practice?  Thank you.  Dusty

Hey Dave...What do you think of some of the latest playing of Carlos del Junco?  I think he is brilliant.  I would say he is on the leading (bleading) edge.  These four numbers were recently posted and I think endorsed by Carlos.

Chording/Slaps/Pulls

Dave in Section 1 chording, example 1.13 there is a 2 draw, followed by another 2 draw with a curved line linking to another 2 draw. What does that curved line mean - Do you just hold the 2 draw note for a longer duration?

In section 2 - Bass lines Ex 1.1 Im not visualizing what you mean by a slap. Also regarding the pull -  after the 2 draw you put your lips on 1&2 and then draw in the chord (21) or do you blow the chord (21)? Then when you do a 3 draw , are you now putting your lips on 3 notes to do a (321) chord?

Hi David, how do I get my playing to become more fluid, i'm going through the folk songs in the first couple of lessons, and I don't have that legato sound that you have in the vidoes. Any feedback would be great.

Thanks
