Welcome Skip Simmons to the BluesHarmonica.com team! Skip is legendary in the blues harmonica world as THE guy to send your gear to or buy from. Every state/country I've been to I hear harp players singing his praises (and have played many of his amps on the road... loaned to me by local harp players). Ask Skip how to get the most out of your amp (tube and speaker subs for example) or his opinion on an amp purchase or restore you may be thinking of.

When viewing a lesson page you'll now see on the right-hand side "What are famous artists saying?" We've created direct links to individual artist videos that cover that subject. For example, click on "Bending Study 1" and if you click on one of the artist's names a video will pop up with them talking about that subject.

I'm proud to bring Fritz Hasenpusch on staff to answer mic questions from the BluesHarmonica.com community. I've worked with Fritz for almost two decades and he's truly the best I've ever met at harp mic restoration, customization and usage. Ask Fritz about your mic's history; how to fix common problems; how to customize it to make it more user friendly; how to upgrade it to better suit the sound you're trying to achieve. If you have a quick question for me or a contributor there's now a place in the forum to do so. Please keep submissions brief. Contributors will respond to their forum posts about once a week... sometimes sooner, sometimes later... this all depends on their road schedule. I'm working on getting Gary Smith online, but for now he's not on this section of the site.

I also spoke to Mark Hummel yesterday and it looks like we'll be working something out to have him be a contributor on the site! Mark is, and plays with, the top harmonica players in the blues harmonica world... it will be great to be the fly on the wall in the green room of his big events... he'll be a great addition to the site!

Good morning (at least on my end of the world) to everyone in the BluesHarmonica.com community! This is day two of the site and our talented web designer... Andy... has been working until the wee hours of the morning (for weeks now!) making sure the site works well for everyone in our crucial first week. Thanks to all that have sent in suggestions... we're working on them now! I'm in the process of updating some of the video encoding on Joe's lessons and FAQ so the sound quality is better... those will be up very soon. continue reading...
