hi david

this is tommy

i am watching the bassman chronicles

you and gary are discussing your experiance with the re-issue bassman at a club

and in general, the difficulties of hearing yourself as compared to what the audience hears

the limitation of distance you have with 15" cable is the maximum you can get away from the amp

of course, there are times on stage when you have to be even closer to the amp

as i am watching this, gary says he likes to go into the front near the audience, so he can hear the amp tone like the audience hears it

my question is, greg huemann has wireless hi z mic sets

couldnt you go much farther out into the audience to hear the amp?

do you think you can get the same tone thing from a harp mic if you sent  to greg and made it into a wireless?

would this be less feedback prone? the same, or more?

thanks

again

tommy

Hello tommy. You could go

Hello tommy.

You could go farther out, but there's not a need...we don't want to really go in the audience...it's more about getting far enough away from our amp that we can hear it well (or really hear what the tone is).

You will not be more or less feedback prone with a wireless.

another question about wireless

hi david

i presume you have had some experience with a vintage bullet wireless mic

have you found you get the tone from a wireless mic that you get from a mic with a cable?

is there a common drawback with a wireless when using vintage mics and amps?

thanks again for your patience

i am going to practice on the link you sent for the improvising 9 exercise, and in a month i will send in a recording

so far when i play the playalong jam, i am connected to you site

can i download the actual mp3?

i ask this because i tried

thanks again

tommy

There's no change in tone

There's no change in tone with a wireless mic.

Okay, I'll look forward to it.

Yes, you can download the MP3... on my Mac I Control-Click on the file and choose "Download Linked File As" and I choose my desktop. On a PC I assume you would right-click and select to download the file.
