Hi David,
I am not sure what is the proper way to play Dip especially on 1 beat note
you say to hold the note what exectly does it means ?
you mean that we start but playing for eample 3 and then legato bring it to 3'
and then lagato back to 3 ?
Also i know that for this song we are not using Slaps, buy for a general knowledge playing slap toghther with Bend is somthing that possible to do ?
Thank you,
Hello Moran.
A "dip" is a note where you start the 3 draw bent and then quickly go back to its natural pitch. Some students find it helpful to use "KYA." "K" helps to start the note in the bent position, and the "YA" releases it quickly.
After you perform that dip, hold that 3 draw for three beats.
After playing that 3 draw for three beats, you then bend the 3 down to 3' and release it back to 3, and then you're off to bar two. Take a listen to the MP3 recording as you look along to the sheet music.
