Hi

Anyone tried these harps? We all know Spiers reputation so they are probably great!

Any of the pros on the site tried them? Compared to stage 1? Joe himself says only

the best players will know the diference between a pro stock and a stage 1!

Regards

Everything from Super Stock

Everything from Super Stock on up starts out with the same embossing, plate flattening, etc. The different levels basically only differ in the amount of time available to fine tune the reed curvatures and "pick the gray hairs out" which is something that can be a bottomless pit in time. We all have to draw the line somewhere. You with your money, and me with time. A harder player doing simpler phrasing won't generally be able to tell the difference between any of them. Players using more technical phrasing with dynamics, will be able to do it easier on a harp I've spent more time on. For first position finesse, Stage I is slightly more dynamic in the upper register than the Pro Stock. Pro Stock is still no slouch.
