Can anyone recommend a cd
by Sonny Boy Williamson I
John Lee Curtis?
I must admit it can get pretty confusing
figuring out which albums are by him
and which ones are by Rice Miller

I also went for both! I have to say I was a fair way into my blues journey before I could distinguish, and I was fairly sure some of the albums I had bought actually labelled the wrong Sonny Boy Williamson in the credits. In fact Amazon UK has that 4 CD set labelled both as John Lee and as Rice Millar! I've come to love them both

The mixed photos on Youtube posts seem to indicate that most people who post them have no idea which is which. One you know who's who, the difference in sound and style become obvious.
There's a pair of two great 4-CD sets, pretty much SB1's complete recorded works, on JSP records. I'd recommend getting them both. His work is foundational for modern blues harmonica, so it's a worthwhile purchase.
