Can any of you fantastic blues harmonica players tell me what key of harmonica Billy Branch is using for the second solo in Broke and Hungry (album: Harp Attack)? The music is in the key of D. The first solo is with a high G harp, but I cant figure out the second solo. I've tried the C harp in third position and that seems to work to a point, the 3 draw bend to start the solo is super fun, but it seems to break down after that. I've also tried the regular G harp in second, but neither of them sounds right. Can anyone tell me what harp I need for this? cheers from the Jersey Shore and thanks a lot....Bob G (aka, Revolution Man)

One of my tips

Hello Revolution Man:

How you doing? i hope fine. About your question i have the answer:

(6. Broke and Hungry – D, 1st solo (Wells) – C Harp (3rd Position) , 2nd solo & Fills (Branch) – G Harp (2nd Position) , Fills (Cotton) - C Harp (3rd Position) )

http://www.harmonicamasterclass.com/artist_listing.htm

You can find a lot of cd with the key of the song, harp used for play the solos and positions.
I found this webpage when i started to play harp in 2004. it's very usefull.

Hope help to you.

Cheers from Chile,
Erwin

broke and hungry

thank you so much, Erwin! Thanks for taking the time to look into it and to answer.

I'll work those solos with the harps you indicate. I was using a high G harp in second position for the first solo. Thanks again.

I cant wait to get back to work on this. hope winter is good in Chile. We are having a heat wave here in the US.

cheers from NJ, RevolutionMan
