Hello David,

I have questions about Solo Harmonica Ex. 1.8 in the first four bars.

1. Are the 2+ blows slapped or just tongue blocked?

2. By the third bar I'm almost out of breath. I played around trying to breathe with my diaphragm and lowering my volume it seemed to help somewhat am I on the right track or do you have any other suggestion?

Hello Sanshinboi.

1) The slap symbol is the "o" above a note to be slapped. In the notated example, note the slap symbol above only the first 2 draw, so the rest is just tongue blocked.

2) Those are good things you're doing. Blow out your nose when you play your 2+'s, making sure to close your nose again when you draw.

No worries. I'm glad you find the MP3's useful. I agree, "Snake Oil" is a cool song... Steve Guyger comes up with some very cool stuff.
