Good Morning David,

I have been practicing quite a lot the Solo Harmonica Study 1 examples over the complete 12 bar blues form, but when it comes to the 4 chord in the progression, I would like to play something different to match the 4chord. Can I just "reverse" the blows and draws in the chording example I am using for the 1chord and then will it match the 4chord when it appears in bar 5 & 6 and then return to the i chord example in bars 7 & 8? I hope this is not off topic.  Thx JT

Hello JT. Good idea, and it

Hello JT. Good idea, and it can work, but often we do not change the chording... it's the constant in a composition. Take a look at Solo Harmonica Study 2, I place all of the licks into the 12 Bar Blues.

Hi David, So what your saying

Hi David,

So what your saying is....maintain the same chording(chugging) throughout the 12 bar blues chorus but when you want to add some "Melody" with the chording accompaniment especially when the 4chord happens in measure 4&5, should your ADDED melody should reflect the 4 chord( notes of 4chord or sequence etc.) in some way? Thx. David

Hello Jayatee72. Yes, you are

Hello Jayatee72. Yes, you are correct. Again, sometimes your chording can change (you see this in Solo Harmonica Study 2, Ex. 1.6), but what you're stating is generally the case.
