Welcome home, David.

I am digging into the Solo Harmonica Study 1 and was curious if you have on your site jam backing tracks for them?
I have a metronome and I am putting it to good use.

Thanks again for all of your help and your topnotch website.

Will

Answer

Hello Will. No, not for the Solo Harmonica Studies... it's important that you don't play with jam tracks... the goal is to be responsible for your timing and the chord changes implied in what you're playing in Study 2. Keep that metronome tickin'!

Replay To Comment - Harmonica And My Health

Hey David. I have a condition called Atrial Fibrillation which the Doctors stopped and started my heart 5 times.

What was really upsetting was I have been training for Ironman events since I was in my twenties. Running marathons, swimming and bike riding.

I moved to Missouri to have a yearly health checkup and they said that I had to stop riding bikes for fear of bleeding excessively because of blood thinners and other pills I am taking.

I am still active walking and general conditioning. It could be worse.

Your Harmonica teaching has helped me to calm down and appreciate what I do have. I know you help folks with breathing ailments. That is so cool. The harmonica is great for that.

You have lost a lot of weight. Is it a diet and your martial art? That is fantastic.

Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing that Will. You've no doubt had some great adversities to deal with... that's the spirit that makes a great musician. Yup, I was heavy. Atkins at first and then martial arts to help keep it off. One day at a time! Check this out when you get a moment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un3p614XExc&feature=youtube_gdata_player a fellow student just shared it with me... pretty cool.
