Hi David,
since you just asked for questions here I am :-)
I saw you reccomend to go amplified the soonest possible (starting with the 2nd song)
To someone on a low budget, what do you advise better: just practice holding a glass to get used to the "mic" (I'm already doing, cool exercise) or a smokey amp coupled with a bottle 'o blues mic will give a better training then with no amp at all?

Answer

I think both are a great idea. Eventually you'll want to go to a setup that is less distorted than the smokey amp... it can hide poor technique ;-)

good to know

I had the wrong idea (any) amp showed poor technique (any mistake made louder and more evident) rather then the contrary (when too distorted), is always a please to have you sharing your knolwdge.
As a side note I found you and that wonderful site thanks to a google search who directed me to the forum, so I not only ask here for insight 'couse your opinion and the one of the other "expert" matters to me, but also to give a little contribution widening the content of the forum, which was so important for me.
