Hello All,

I'm looking to purchase a small (around 5w or less) amplifier that I can use for practice at low volume. It needs to be small and reasonably portable as I travel around a lot so I'm looking at amps like the Yamaha THR5, Boss Katana Mini. It's unlikely that I will be able to try the amplifier before purchasing so recommendations are very welcome.  I have a Lone Wolf 'Harp Attack' pedal which I can use with the amplifier if required.

Hi Jim, Have you had a look

Hi Jim,

Have you had a look at the Blackstar Fly 3? They give out a decent sound, considering their size, plus they have a delay, and an overdrive option, which actually sound pretty good. There's a bluetooth version as well, so you can link your phone or whatever. Link below. From memory mine cost around $100AUD.

Cheers,

Ben.

Blackstar Fly 3

Hello Ben,

Thanks for the recommendation.  I've enquired around but it doesn't look like Blackstar have a regional (Middle Eastern) dealer.  The local music shops deal with Yamaha, Boss and Fender but are reluctant to get anything into stock until I pay a deposit which is almost as much as the amp... I'm away on vacation in a few weeks time so may wait until I can get to some better stocked music shops.

Kind regards

Jim
