Hi

Dear Kinya  I need a small light box sitting on my desk for reed adjustment.

Can you kindly send me a link to a practical affordable light box in Amazon?  :)

Thanks a bunch

Harmonica Light Box

An important feature of a harmonica light box is the slot, enabling the Harp Tech to plink the reeds as they emboss (aka size, burnish) the reed plate slot, or pivot the reed on it's rivet axis. This saves a ton of time, as you can check to make certain the reed is not "catching" as it is passing in/out the reed slot.

At $10.29 this Darice Light Table seems like a good value:

I am not sure if I like it ,

I am not sure if I like it ,  the reason is that there is a black dot dot dot on the light box

Apparently it is there to make sure your eyes do not get hurt however I am not sure

if it is better just to have the pure light

I used a cigar box i got for

I used a cigar box i got for free and made a cutout slightly lager than a reed with a dremel tool. Put one of those cheap lights you can get at home depot (the kind with a couple of LED's and you press to turn on) inside the box. Lay a white sheet of paper over the light. It works just fine and no blinding light!

Hi John, The image that Mike

Hi John, The image that Mike shared was to provide our members with a template:

  1. that you can print out and lay ontop of your light box,
  2. or simply open up on your smart phone and lay your reed plate over the white portion of the template (pinch the smart phone screen to size the white strip).
